Inspired by a record breaking event in 2012 – an event that brought 450 supporters together and raised $160,000 - the Bear Affair Committee 2013 is getting a head start on planning for 2013 with the introduction of sponsorship opportunities (see below).
As a private, not-for-profit organization, we rely on the generosity and support of the entire Philadelphia region to carry out our work at no charge to the children and families we serve. Thirteen years ago, a committee of dedicated volunteers, led by current PCA Board member Mike Gillespie, started The Bear Affair, a gala party and auction to raise the significant private funds necessary to support the programs and services of the Children’s Alliance and it continues to grow under the care of the amazing volunteer Committee that plans it.
What’s new so far for 2013:
- An Online Sponsorship Selection and Payment System!
- Automatic Sponsorship Presence on our Ticketing Site!
- Online Ticket Sales (tickets must now be purchased at the door)
Each year, our friends and supporters hold The Bear Affair, a gala party and auction to benefit our programs and services. This event has raised hundreds of thousands of dollars to support the work of the Children's Alliance, and provides a significant portion of the funds we need to serve the city's most vulnerable children. The members of the Committee who pull it all together each year are volunteers and we'd like to acknowledge their work on behalf of PCA.
A heartfelt thank you to the donors and sponsors who make the Bear Affair such a successful event. In the words of Will Rogers, "People are marvelous in their generosity if they know the cause is there." The cause is here at Philadelphia Children's Alliance and we are so grateful for all who recognize and support it.
